S.O.A.P. Matthew 6:14

S – “If you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

O – Jesus spoke this from the sermon on the mount. Jesus is telling us the importance of forgiveness. We must give forgiveness to everyone who has sinned against us in order to receive forgiveness from our Father in heaven.

A – I can apply this to my life by choosing to forgive those who hurt and sin against me. Remember, my battle is not against flesh and blood but against the enemy. The enemy wants us to remain in a state of unforgiveness as it produces more sins and sinful mindsets. It leads to anger, bitterness, resentment, etc. When I have been sinned against, let me stop and feel the weight of the hurt so I can move forward in forgiveness and healing.

P – Dear Father, please help me to move forward in forgiveness. Free me from resentment and bitterness. Help me to reflect when I’ve been sinned against so I can fully forgive and heal from the hurt against me. Reveal to me the hurt I’ve caused others and show me where to ask the forgiveness of others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
