S.O.A.P. Matthew 14:20-21

S – Matthew 14:20-21: “They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, not counting women and children.”

O – Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fish to feed over 5,000 people. In the hands of Jesus, what seemed like not enough became more than enough! The total number of people Jesus fed could have been 10,000 – 15,000.

A – We often feel like our contribution to Jesus is meager, but He can use and multiply whatever we give Him. Whether it is talent, time, or treasure, when we give them to Jesus, our resources are multiplied. As I have spent the last month in dedicated “quiet times”, I have often felt distracted or had thoughts that I’m not doing it right, but Jesus blesses the time I spend with Him, and He multiplies it. Through these times of dedicated prayer and scripture, I have felt so much more peace and calm in my life. I have been more present in moments with my family and children and more intentional to be in the moment. The Lord has absolutely been blessing me beyond measure by revealing Himself more to me while also revealing to me the light and dark places in my heart.

P – Dear Lord, thank you for multiplying the time I spend with you. Thank you for pursuing and changing my heart to be more like yours. Help me to stop wrong thoughts, words, and conversations in their tracks. Continue to show me the dark places in my heart and bring me to repentance. Thank you Jesus, Amen.
