Matthew 4: 12-25 - At Once!

Read Matthew 4:12-25

S.O.A.P. Focus: Matthew 4:19-20

(Scripture. Observation. Application. Prayer.)

S – “Come follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will send you out to fish for people. AT ONCE they left their nets and followed Him.”

O – Peter and Andrew, Jesus’ first chosen disciples, did not hesitate when Jesus called them. AT ONCE they left their nets to follow Him. They left their security, their livelihood, their family, everything they knew to follow Jesus the second He asked. They didn’t say “Just a minute Jesus, we need to finish what we are doing, go tell our families goodbye, etc.” They immediately followed Him, dropping any responsibilities outside of Him!

A – When I feel the Holy Spirit prompting me to do something, I should not hesitate, even for a second. If God is leading me to do something or say something to someone, He will equip me to do so. I should follow His prompting in my spirit, AT ONCE!

P – Dear Lord, thank you for meeting me each morning as I pursue and abide in you. Make me a fisher of men, like your disciples. I pray I would not hesitate when your Holy Spirit calls me into action, and that I would answer in obedience, AT ONCE! Amen.
